The Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS) community is committed to respecting cultural diversity, empowering all learners, and developing compassionate people who take responsibility for making positive changes in our society. As part of our commitment to celebrating diversity, RMMS has several programs to offer parents and students.

RMMS is a K-5 magnet school located in New London, Connecticut. Students from twelve neighboring districts attend RMMS and are immersed in an environment where they learn to appreciate cultural differences from all over the globe as well as their own and celebrate the diversity of the world's communities.
The school has been successful in attracting a diverse student population. Through the use of a controlled lottery, simple application procedures, no admission requirements, and active recruiting on targeted communities, the school has been successful in meeting its goals for racial diversity and has achieved socioeconomic diversity as well. One third of the students are on free and reduced lunch.
In 2011, RMMS celebrated its 20th anniversary with a Multicultural Festival and a Magnetpalooza Day!

- Spanish Language instruction for all students
- Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and Thematically Integrated Instruction
- Ongoing student assessment and differentiation of instruction
- Team Teaching
- Active parent participation in discussion of school curriculum and programs
- A multicultural environment, multicultural curriculum, and dual immersion bilingual/bicultural program
- Looping Program which allows for students to spend two school years under the guidance of one teacher
