What does RMMS offer 6th Graders?

Student-Driven Extracurricular Activities

Our school will offer Student-Driven Extracurricular Activities, where experienced teachers will guide students in creating and leading a wide range of clubs and projects, from leadership clubs to Esports, allowing students to explore their passions in a supportive and structured environment.

High School Preparation

Students experience a structured yet flexible schedule while transitioning between different teachers and peer groups, setting the stage for success in high school while being supported by a close-knit team. Our students will also be given preference in the Marine Science Magnet High School (MSMHS) lottery, a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School.

Modernized School Facilities

Our newly updated spaces will include lockers, collaborative community areas, and specialized rooms for coding, gaming, engineering, science labs, and design, enhancing the learning experience.

Elective Rotation

Students will have a voice and choice in their electives. Students enjoy a variety of electives like Spanish, Latin American Studies in Cooking, and more, giving them the freedom to explore their interests while having a say in their educational choices.

Project-Based Learning

Students engage in hands-on projects that help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, making learning more relevant and impactful. RMMS is excited to partner with PBL Works beginning in the summer of 2025 to build our pathway to Marine Science Magnet High School (MSMHS).
