Nature's Classroom
Nature’s Classroom is a unique educational experience for students in grades four and five at RMMS.  The goal of Nature’s Classroom is to create a living-learning community that integrates the social development of that community with academic experiences.  Students and teachers spend five days and four nights at the Nature’s Classroom site working with trained staff with a focus on concepts and themes and their connection to the total life support system as they explore the natural environment around them.

After the 2009 Nature’s Classroom experience, the parents of the students in grades four and five were surveyed regarding their experiences in preparing for and participating in the Nature’s Classroom week.

Imani Winds
Listen as Imani Winds introduce their wind instruments...

We were recently treated to an enjoyable and enriching performance by the extremely talented Imani Winds quintet. Imani Winds has established itself as more than a wind quintet. Since 1997, the grammy nominated ensemble has taken a unique path, carving out a distinct presence in the classical music world with its dynamic playing, culturally poignant programming, genre-blurring collaboration and inspiring programming. The group is enriching the traditional wind quintet repertoire while meaningfully bridging European, American, African, and Latin traditions. Check them out on the web at www.imaniwinds.com.
