Regional Multicultural Magnet School students and graduates sent a strong message of peace and unity through a poem written by a recent graduate.

Sadia Zakariah came to RMMS as a Sudanese refugee in 2016. As she acclimated herself to her new country, language, and community, she wrote a poem entitled “All People are the Same.” The poem illustrates how people have similar goals of family, love, and peace, despite their cultural differences.

Sadia, who is now a 6th grader, recited the poem with a special message to welcome LEARN teachers and staff members to the start of the 2017-18 school year. On the video, she reads the poem in Arabic, RMMS 4th grader Juliette Hickey reads the English translation, and 5th grader Adrian Bouchard recites the Spanish translation.
